Volunteers Needed: Saturday, May 8th, 2010!!


UPDATES
  • Sign up sheet will be provided at the Branch, please come to sign up to receive the special uniform to wear at the site. The goal for this event throughout California would be 75,000 people helping. We need up to 40 members in our Stake to attend the event. Hope you can come!
  • Please bring your own gloves, boots, long pants, long sleeves, shovels, rakes, hats, sunglasses. Brother Brady Ellsworth will provide some tools for us to borrow. Make sure to return to him the tools. Please label your name on items if it is yours!
  • Release forms will be handed out for both minors and adults.
  • The Park Admin at 8:00am will provide short classes/training/instructions before we begin our physical tasks.

Please circle your calendars for Saturday, May 8. Branch members age 12 and up will have the opportunity to get some exercise from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is a chance to volunteer, spend some time outdoors, and make a positive difference by helping to clean up an outdoor recreation area. The San Juan Stake will provide BBQ hot dogs after this event.

What we will be doing:
• Building the beginnings of a Nature Play area near the picnic tables
• Weed removal from the landscaped area
• General clean-up of the Ancil Hoffman Park area.

Make sure you bring your hat, sunblock and sunglasses. It will be a pretty bright and sunny day!

Are we supposed to meet at the Stake Center or just go straight to the park and meet there?
