Welcome!

Hello all!

As you can see, the deaf branch is going techno!  After much discussion, setting up a blog site seemed to be the best road to take in keeping the deaf community informed of the branch's upcoming activities and news, and yet allow for your comments.

This site is meant to be informative, as well as a gathering place for members and friends of the Sacramento area deaf branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  You  do not have to be a member of the church to attend our activities or services.  Nor do you have to be a member of the branch/church to post a comment.  All interested are welcome.

Your comments, however, should be posted in the spirit of friendship.   Any  that reflect otherwise run the risk of being removed.

So let the chats begin!

(I wanted to put this on the main page but I couldn't figure out how. If someone could tell me how to do that, I would be grateful.)
Hay everyone I am doing my senor project at CSUN and though you would be interested. I am asking 9 questions to different groups of people to see what is the same and what is different. Fell free to answer if you would like.

Kathryn

1) Tell me about yourself and your experiences with deaf people.

2)What do you think of when you hear the word deaf? What dose Deaf mean to you? What thoughts images and associations are connected with that word?

3) What is your opinion on American Sign Language?

4)What issues challenges will deaf children face as they grow up?

5) What skills and knowledge will help deaf children to be successful? For example if you had a deaf baby what do you want him to know?

6) What skills and knowledge could non-Deaf people get that would help the deaf children be successful?

- What dose successful mean to you?

7) Do you know of any Deaf sport group, actors, or works of art made by deaf individuals that could inspire deaf children and those children could look to as a roll model.

8)What key things have happened in the past that have helped to improve the lives of deaf people.

9) Last words. This is your opportunity to add anything you feel is important. If there was a group of deaf children and there parents,
you have just finished speaking to them. How and what do you want them to remember.

Thanks again.
